– Another PrideFest has come and gone, this year drawing an estimated 200,000 people. Denver’s annual celebration of gay and lesbian culture commemorates the 1969 Stonewall riots, the start of the modern gay rights movement. Of course, members of “The Real World” Denver cast were out in force, flitting around Civic Center Park with their camera crew and production assistants. A look at what they did and how they acted says a bit about MTV’s approach to the locals.
– Gay cast member Davis was definitely there with a couple female cast members (Colie and Jenn, perhaps?) When some people tried to approach them they said they weren’t with “The Real World,” despite the camera crew. How real is that? Below are some other accounts from faithful GetRealDenver.com readers (and btw — that job at J.R.’s may be on again. Watch for cast member Davis to start working there any day now…)
Jeremy Rojo: “I saw them today (June 25) at Gay Pride. There were two short tan girls with dark hair, and a Gay guy that was blonde. I asked the production manager if it was the Real World and he smiled and shook his head. This may sound weird but we really wanted to follow them, so we did. It felt a little Nancy Drewish. Or creepy stalkerish. But whatever. We walked past them and I looked at the guy and whispered ‘Go MTV’ and he smiled and one of the little over-tanned girls just said, ‘We aren’t on the ‘Real World.’”
Suzie: “Hey there– I saw the real world cast today at Civic Center Park for the Gay Pride festival. The blonde guy (Davis) was there along with two women. They were making people sign wavers and they were being filmed all over the park. My friends and I kept running into them and one of the girls was a complete— well I won’t say it here– but anyway, the blonde guy pictured above was definitely there today.”
Steve: “I was working with the gay hockey team serving beer at the Coors beer truck at 14th & Broadway. A very buxom female cast member (straight brownish blonde hair, black halter), followed by a tall, annoyed looking cameraman, short producer and a handler in a light blue polo, stopped at the tent and bought a beer with tickets. She was carded by the hockey player who was serving. She gave some attitude at being carded. Then the producer quickly covered up the Coors logo on the cup with tape. When the handler was asked if he wanted to order a beer, he brusquely said, ‘No.’ The group then moved on north on Broadway.”

I saw them twice yesterday during the Pride Fest activities. Once at Civic Center Park- My friend recognized Davis and called out to him. Davis looked at him, and then said that he wasn’t Davis. Then why did he look when called???? Two other girls were with him too.
Later, we saw them at the Fox Hole. They were dancing and boozing just like everyone else. A petite blonde girl that was with them was dancing with an attractive brunette guy. She took off her shirt and was just dancing her black bra. The guy picked her up and held her against a speaker while they kissed. When he put her down, she lifted up her denim skirt exposing her purple thong! They whispered something to each other, and then headed towards the door. A crew member (looked like a security guard) grabbed her and said something to her. She put her shirt back on and walked away again.

Your coverage of the Real World has been solid. I’m surprised it took this long for a city to undermine MTV’s efforts. It almost makes me want to move back to Denver.
Almost.

Yeah, Brooke got her panties in a bunch when I carded her at the beer truck during PrideFest. The only reason why I carded her was due to the sh*tty attitude she threw at me when asking for the beer in the first place. I replied, “Look Sweetie…this is in fact the real world…so pull out your id or you don’t get beer!? I haven’t seen somebody suck their teeth that hard since high school. Just who the hell do these kids think they are!? I’m sure Coral will kick her a*s in one of the upcoming RW/RR Challenges anyway!

Damn, Juzy beat me to it!
It was her and I that ran into them at Pride and the Foxhole. Nicole and Geoff seemed nice. Davis was kind of stand off-ish.

was at JR’s yesterday (monday) with my friend joe n we were chatting with the bartender. joe asked if the real world guy was really gonna be working there and J.C. confirmed that yes, he will be there starting today (tuesday) supposedly, and will only work tuesdays and sundays because days like thursday are too crowded to the camera crew. J.C. also didnt think that the cameras would be there all the time, but wasnt sure. either way, starting this week, there should be plenty of action at JR’s

Hey Christopher (Climax Hockey): How many years of RW have you watched? Coral may be “dabomb” now but she had a major ‘tude on RW New York–was a total bitch to everyone–From what I’ve seen of Brooke around town she hasn’t been like that at all. As a matter of fact, she’s been pretty cool considering the drinks and beer some “locals” like to throw on the cast member not to mention the names they’ve been called. As for Coral kickin her ass–that kinda stuff’s for hockey not the Real World!

By the way, assuming the picture on here is really Brooke, she wasn’t even one of the RW girls at Pridefest. So c’mon Denver let’s B truthful and not hurtful in what we say. It’s one thing if the Real Worlder’s do something that warrants criticism but to make things up and sling insults just isn’t legit. And lies coming from a gay hockey player? I’d think you’d know what it’s like to be wrongly judged. As for Coral kickin someone’s ass? It’s a good thing Coral isn’t a “gay basher” or you’d be in big trouble, you BIG hockey man!

Hey thsi Is Jaycee from Jr’s Denver.
Whoever added that comment with me saying anything about a cast member comint to JR’s is not true. I am not the owner or manager and know nothing about the cast members of the real world. It’s mere propagand, and i wish to have no play or say in it.
thank you

I myself am a lesbian and I have seen Brooke at a lesbian joint in Birmingham Alabama. She was with a chic and obviously she is a lesbian. I just hate she had to hide this aspect of her from the “real world”. ;)

Why is Brooke an absolute psycho? Someone needs serious SSRI therapy.
Comment by greg — February 24, 2007 @ 7:52 pm
I take it back. It was Jenn that brought the attitude to Pride – not Brooke. So, whatever…my bad. I didn’t lie to begin with. It was an mix up due to not knowing the cast memebers name. Blah Blah Blah…who cares anyway about these people?
