Brooke face
“Real World” Denver cast member Brooke

Myspace is really helping to blow the lid off these “Real World” Denver cast members (which MTV has been trying to keep secret by making people sign waivers when they meet them). Of course, cast member Davis has understandably made his profile private since we got a hold of it, (and changed his profile name to “Can’t Touch This”). But Myspace has at least helped us get pics and profiles up of potential cast members Brooke, Ty and Stephen

Let us know if you have anything else on these cast members… pics and anonymous tips are welcome!

“The Real World” Denver cast updates

Posted on June.23.2006

– After that clever little Westword stunt we’re obviously a bit wary about the tips we’ve been getting on “The Real World” Denver cast members. However, a few people have helped us flesh out the profiles of possible cast members Ty (a.ka. Tyrie), Brooke, Davis and Stephen on our Meet the Cast page, including adding some candid photos from their former lives to our Photo Gallery.

Denver to Austin and back again

Posted on June.22.2006

Austin Rio Grande
– Life imitates art imitating life, if what “The Real World” does can even be called art (maybe in a trashy, John Waters-type of way?)

– For those of you that don’t know, Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, a Colorado joint with a popular location in the heart of Denver’s LoDo, opened its first non-Colorado location at the old “Real World” house in Austin, Texas a couple months ago. The timing is perfect for Rio Grande, as “The Real World” continues to film its upcoming Denver season in LoDo. The new Austin restaurant (at 301 San Jacinto, on the northeast the corner of 3rd and San Jacinto) will continue to serve its insanely strong margaritas and other hearty Mexican fare.

Westword on the street

Posted on June.22.2006

westword
–The two major daily newspapers in Denver (The Denver Post and The Rocky Mountain News) are often at odds with each other, and especially with our alternative weekly counterpart, Westword. But that rag just pulled a stunt so inspired and elaborate that I have to give them props. You can read about it here, but I’ll summarize below.

–Whether it was social experiment, practical joke or celebrity worship litmus test, Westword decided to assemble a fake “Real World” cast. They strode along Colfax Ave. and other streets with cameras and bogus credentials, hitting bars like Mezcal, Govnr’s Park Restaurant and Tavern and Hemingway’s. Predictably, a lot of people flocked to them like flies to manure, just for a chance to get on camera, while others were repelled by the artifice of it all (oh, if only they knew…)

–Despite the fact that some of the readers of GetRealDenver.com got fooled and wrote in with bogus tips (like fake cast members Alexis and Geoff having a row outside Govnr’s Park) we managed to dodge most of the bullets, as our Meet the Cast page still had a lot of correct info. Hey — that’s the nature of reader-supported, rumor-filled blog, yes?

Wetting tables at J.R.’s

It seems “The Real World” Denver cast continues to amuse the locals with their reliably drunken antics. This from a little birdie that saw them at J.R.’s Bar and Grill (where a gay cast member named “Jeremy” (maybe Davis?) is rumored to work as a barback. Our little birdie tried unsuccessfully to “avoid the debacle” when some of the cast and crew showed up on Saturday, June 17:

“There were four of them — one guy and three girls. Everybody at the bar just stood around and stared at them. One of the girls spilled her drink on the pool table because a bug flew in and she dropped it. Then there’s the upstairs balcony and the whole thing was packed. When they were leaving one of the girls bit it on the sidewalk and everyone erupted in laughter and pointing and clapping. There were probably five production people and a cop, and one guy walking around having people sign release forms.”

Did she sign anything? “Heck no,” she said with noticeable disgust. Rock on, sister…
