Denver rests in the background of these residences in the tony suburb of Cherry Creek North.
– “The Real World” Denver cast stopped by Venus Salon in Cherry Creek North recently for some stylin’ haircuts, according to one anonymous employee that left us a message over the weekend…
– We weren’t around over the weekend to pick up the call, and unfortunately many salons are closed on Mondays, so our return calls probably won’t be answered until tomorrow. They likely signed confidentiality agreements anyway, so getting our hopes up for a comment or extra details is probably ill-advised (unless another nice employee is willing to talk to us, as the anonymous one obviously was).
– The message we received was pretty positive, basically just describing how the cast got styled and cut while being filmed, “creating fun” in the process. We know they were filming a lot around town last week, possibly for the “introduction” of the show (the credits before each episode), so it’s not out of the question that they wanted to look nice for that.
– Check back here for updates, and note that our lovely 24-hour webcam is up and working again…

i was walking to the library downtown on sunday and saw a trailer with a jeep riding on the back with a bunch of 20 somethings in jeep and two motorcycle police driving behind…if this is the real world, definitely not how the real world gets around…this show really needs a serious reality check. it is so off kilter from when it started…anyway, they went under the new museum expansion on 13th and continued to drive…

john, a quick question: what is this “introduction” show? are they, like, pretending the cast just arrived in town?
or is it some sort of preview show, like “check out what’s going to happen this season on the real world!” and they’re going around town collecting fun-looking footage?
just curious,
kathleen in wyoming.

Oh, the “introduction” isn’t its own show. I was just talking about that 15-30 second bit at the beginning of each episode with the voiceovers: “This is the true story of seven strangers picked to live in a former billiards hall…” and etc.
They were rumored to be filming their introduction shots around the city last week, all posed and made up and all that.

Venus Salon, huh? I would look for some confirmation on that. They have been engaged in what I’d call guerilla marketing - stopping women on the streets of CCN and going door-to-door in office buildings. I’ve been stopped by the same girl a few times. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a scam to try to drum up business.

Naomi — The call was actually from an employee, altough I’ve heard about their guerilla marketing tactics too from other readers.
