– We received a report from a reader that recently completed an Outward Bound course in Leadville, where “The Real World” Denver cast has been working as mountain guides while they’re in Colorado…
– Sounds like the MTV camera crew didn’t exactly tread lightly when they climbed Mount Champion, a peak in the Sawatch Range in the central part of the state.
Nicole writes: “Our group climbed Mt. Champion… on our way up, some of the Outward Bound instructors griped about the damage done to the trail by the ‘camera crew.’
At the top of Mt. Champion, the register had been signed by all the members of the ‘Real World’ 18 cast and most identified themselves as Real Worlders in their register log. They signed the register on both July 15 and July 16.”
– Hmmm… it begs the question: What exactly did the crew bring up the mountain with them that did so much damage? You’d think all the cameras, mics, etc. would be hand or shoulder-held and not on dollies or tracks. We would call Outward Bound but they’re legally bound not to talk about the show while it’s in town. Guess we’ll have to wait until it airs to see…
