“The Real World” Denver: Let’s get it on
by John Wenzel on August 24, 2006

Real World Denver house
Denverites walk in front of the “The Real World” house at 1920 Market St. in LoDo, soon to be empty and likely up for sale.

– As we told you on August 14th, “The Real World” Denver cast and crew traveled to Thailand for its annual overseas trip, but they’ll be returning to the Mile High City today to finish up the season and film their tearful goodbyes

– Sources close to the show have told us they’ll vacate Denver on Aug. 31, which gives this blog only a few more days to “creepily stalk the cast,” as some indignant readers have referred to us. Whatever, you know you love it… you’re the ones that keep reading the blog and leaving comments.

– We’ll also be at the MTV Reality TV Junky Party tomorrow at Club Vinyl. You can read our previous post about it here. Scheduled to appear are Teddy (“8th & Ocean”), Kenny (“Fresh Meat”), John (“The Real World” Key West), Svetlana (“The Real World” Key West) and Casey (“Fresh Meat”).

– On Monday we’ll post our pics and interviews with the reality TV stars, as well as whatever “Real World” Denver dirt we dug up over the weekend. But alas… the end is nigh. Get yr fill of the cast while they’re here, people, ’cause they’ll be gone next Thursday.

– Also, have you heard about this travesty? Don Vito, that freaky fat mother from Viva La Bam (whom we wrote about here in June), got arrested for allegedly touching some girls inappropriately, resulting in two counts of sexual assault on a child. And it all happened right here in Colorado, home of the JonBenét Ramsey media circus.

*shuddering noiselessly*

  1. Hey John,

Thanks for all your coverage and reporting. Especially having to deal with attacks by the crew, and commenters.

I can’t believe how some people get all riled up about a show.

I’ll be reading your other articles and checking out this site more as the show approaches!

  2. John,
I agree..you’ve put up with a lot to do this site. It’s been great fun to read!

  3. Thank you for keeping us up to date on the next real world season. After The Real World Denver ends filming will you stop posting? And something I’d like to know is where the next season after Denver will be.

  4. You also caused alot of pain for the friends and family of the cast.

  5. Chris — I’ll keep posting at least through the airing of the show, but the frequency of posts will probably decrease. Not sure where the next season’s going to be. There’s been lots of speculation though (D.C.? Tokyo? Phoenix?)

Asley — What are you talking about? This is a TV show, not a group hug. Don’t you think these friends and family are going to find out all this stuff anyway when the show airs? (the drunken fights, everyone sleeping with each other, etc.) If you want to be more specific and tell me how I caused this pain, I’d be interested in hearing it.

  6. Asley, I am sorry for your pain. As a friend of a cast member and friend of the family of a cast member, we have gotten a kick out of this…it is new territory for all. Ya can’t keep readin posts if they hurt you. Just don’t read it. People being candid, people being misinformed is the nature of this show and some media. It’s just for fun, at least for us.

  7. Leslie, Thanks for the advice. I have been ok with everything for a while. I no longer take it as seriously as I did. It was just the fustration in the early stages when I knew what was true and what was lies. John let some of the most ridiculous blogs remain on the site.
After being out there, seeing everything, I realized that getrealdenver is missing so much, what this site could of been.

I’m looking forward to seeing the show. Maybe we can “come out” and talk then.

  8. I’m just curious what you mean when you say “what this site could have been”? Do you mean an MTV-loving lapdog of the show, a non-critical promotional tool that writes exactly what they’d want us to write?
