“Real World” Denver cast member Davis has been working out for the challenge.

– We received another note from Michael Martin today, head of the Michael Martin Agency, which represents former “Real World” cast members and books them for public appearances. One update for the Denver cast and one for Austin:

1. Rachel from Real World Austin posted an update about herself at my blog today. You can read it right here.
2. Davis told me he already left for the challenge (see 9/27’s post) and he has been actually training for quite a while in preparation for it. He also stated he hopes he does better than the Austin cast did.

– We always knew “The Real World” Denver cast was relatively athletic, working out at local weight rooms and acting as mountain guides for Outward Bound. And what about that video of Alex climbing a tree on Market Street earlier this summer? But now a source close to the show has told us that Denver cast members Colie and Davis have been selected to be on the next Real World/Road Rules Challenge. Filming is in South Africa and supposedly begins in about a month.

– Here’s a quick and painless way to get updates on “The Real World” and other MTV shows, according to our friends over the Real World/Road Rules blog:

“MTV is starting a program where they send ‘insider alerts’ to your mobile phone. Alerts on ‘The Real World’ and ‘Road Rules’ are bunched together, so you can supposedly get news on both shows and the Challenges via your mobile phone. Although the site fails to offer any additional details and doesn’t say exactly what ‘insider alerts’ are, probably expect text messages telling you when the next show is on, or when a new piece of content is uploaded to the MTV website.” (emphasis added)

– Everyone knows that being on a reality TV show, especially one as long-running and well-known as “The Real World,” can lead to a larger career, even if that simply means paid appearances at parties and lectures at colleges. The best-case scenario finds you getting on even more TV shows, or getting into modeling, acting and other slightly sustainable fields.

– But who books these appearances, and how does the newly-freed Denver cast, for example, break into that lucrative market?
