– As reported by the reliably information-packed Real World/Road Rules blog, Dan Renzi from “The Real World” Miami was in Denver this weekend filming the preview/intro show for our season, which is rumored to be airing in December. According to his blog, he heard some pretty bad things about the Denver cast when he was out at the bars…

– You can read Dan’s full thoughts on the subject right here, but for our purposes here’s a snippet from his Sept. 8 post: “After sleeping the whole flight here, and going straight to bed upon arrival, I rolled myself very slowly out of bed today to film the intro special for the new Real World, which took place here in Denver. Walk around the house, mess with the toys, oggle the pool. The house, of course, is drop-dead amazing. I tried to convey enthusiasm, because I really did like it. But the lack of calories in my body… made it difficult. This is when this job is no fun at all. It’s not like I can call in sick.”

– “Although things perked up considerably when talking to all the bartenders in town who waited on the Real World cast. Apparently, people from The Real World Denver did not tip. Nor did they usually pay at all. HORRIBLE stories, of racking up huge bills and walking out without dropping a dime, because they thought they were entitled to freebies when the cameras were around. And on top of that, no tips. I hope the editors keep it all in. Heh. I remember when I thought I was hot sh** like that.” (emphasis added)

– How frank of him to admit that the cast members are stuck-up primadonnas! (Then again, he is a writer…) It also echoes several reports we’ve had in the past about cast members not paying, not tipping and generally being jerks to the people around them. Mind you, we’ve also had some positive reports of people hanging out with them, saying they’re nice/normal people and all that, but the negative has outweighed the positive thus far.

– You may also remember Dan from his run-in with the law, in which he was busted for masturbating in a porno theater in Kansas City in May 2004. He was unashamed of it, even writing about it on his blog before anyone else could speculate and smear him.
