“The Real World” Denver house before it was renovated into the sex pad it is now.
– Speculation has run rampant lately about what’s going to happen to “The Real World” Denver house at 1920 Market St. in LoDo. Will it turn back into a bar or restaurant, as it was before the show? Will it be divided into apartments to trade on its cachet as a former reality TV show set? Of course Bunim/Murray Productions and MTV aren’t saying a word as they get ready to sell the property, which Bunim/Murray purchased from Heritage Bank on March 8 for $2.7 million. But we have an idea where it’s going…
– Real estate insiders think the residential zoning of the house is only temporary, as several interested buyers are looking for commercial space. Our bet is that it’s going to turn into an MTV-themed restaurant, perhaps in time for the “Real World” Denver season to air later this year (reportedly in early December). Of course, someone has to buy the 21,927 square-foot space first. It’s currently being pedaled through Kentwood City Properties, a residential real estate company.
– The house isn’t even officially on the market yet (it’ll probably be a little while before it is) but our insiders expect it to go for about $3.3 million, not a bad bit of appreciation since March. If the place does try to trade on its relation to the show, it’ll have to get permission from MTV, as they prohibit former “Real World” pads from doing so without their go-head.
– The backstory on the house is that Heritage Bank assumed the deed from the former owners of B-52 Billiards in lieu of foreclosure. It still has a liquor license, which Rock Island’s David Clamage is “babysittingâ€? so it’ll be there when it’s time to sell. There’ll also be a meeting on Nov. 2 to decide what to do about the courtyard wall, which was apparently put up without the proper permits from the city (read our August post right here).

FYI - The show will air in October…
