Yes, but is it worth $3.3 million?

– Now that MTV has announced the premiere of “The Real World: Denver,” the agreements preventing us from showing you our official pictures of the house (a.k.a. embargos) have been lifted. Of course, I never agreed to one since I’ve been following the production of the show since May, but some of The Denver Post’s photographers and reporters toured the house in September during media week and were able to snap photos and conduct interviews with cast members.

– The fruits of that labor, plus some intrepid reporting, can be seen right here in Julie Dunn’s comprehensive Denver Post article on the sale of the house at 1920 Market St. in LoDo. Looks like a holding company for Bunim/Murray Productions is trying to make a $600,000 profit on the property (which we reported last month). That’s a mighty chunk o’ cash for a cheesy, overblown TV set, don’t you think?

– According to Jorgen Christiansen, owner of Denver’s Urban Realty, the property is a tough sell. “I would never look at that location for clients because it’s sandwiched between all those bars,” he said in Dunn’s article. “And even for a nightclub, it’s a huge space. You’ll have to remodel it, and that is very expensive.” (emphasis added).

– There are also cast member quotes on the subject, including this amusing one from Davis: “Sometimes it felt like I was living in an Old Navy commercial… Slowly but surely, it started to feel like my real home.” No wonder, as the 21,297-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-storied building was furnished with rugs and furniture by Crate & Barrel’s CB2 line, with appliances from Frigidaire and KitchenAid.

— And, unsurprisingly, there are no doors on any of the bedrooms or bathrooms. Hmmm… wonder what kind of foursome action that’s going to lead to? There are more details in Julie’s story so be sure to check that out, and stay tuned for more on this blog…
