I agree that the show's going to be amusing regardless of ratings, but if MTV's misrepresenting the ratings to people that wouldn't know any better, it's worth looking into.

Anyway, that's a very good point you make at the end there. Wonder if our homophobic culture would be ready for that kind of guy-on-guy stuff though... it would certainly help even the score for all the lesbian hookups over the years.

I think the thing to keep in mind is, is the show worth watching? And the answer provided in the premiere? A resounding YES!

I don't care what the ratings are. MTV and advertisers may, but I don't. I've watched "The Real World" since season two in Los Angeles, and out of all the premiere episodes I've seen, "The Real World: Denver" is in the top five in my book.

"The Real World: Denver" has the potential to be one of the best seasons ever. I, for one, am very much looking forward to seeing the interaction between Davis and Stephen play out. That's gonna be good ... assuming they don't get physical over their polar-opposite opinions.

I do wonder, though, when "The Real World" will cast two gay men who would likely be really into each other. Now *that* would add a whole new dimension and thoroughly watchable dynamic to the show.
