OMG, we both have elbows. That’s so weird.

– How refreshing, in this post-Christmas episode of “The Real World: Denver,” that we finally get a reprieve from the drunken sex drama that dominated the previous weeks. OK, not really, but at least it shows a two-dimensional side of the roommates, as opposed to the cardboard cutouts we’ve seen before.

– As it opens we’re given some foreshadowing quotes from earlier episodes in which Brooke is seen walking through the terrifying cavern that is Denver International Airport, plus a line about Colie being a “kissing slut.” Will this lead to her being in the hospital? Will Brooke have a pointless freakout near Coors Field? Only time, and commercial breaks, will tell…

– Alex Smith, “The Real World: Denver” cast member that got more tail in the first episode than all the roommates combined, recently did an interview with the East Valley Tribune, a suburban Arizona-area newspaper close to where Alex goes to school. Nothing too enlightening in it, since he’s contractually prevented from answering any questions about the current season, but worth a read…

– This isn’t the most exciting news in the world, but I figured I’d let you know what was going on at 1920 Market St. last week with the red carpet, marked-off street and red-coated valets milling about the entrance. We previously told you about how the house sold to a father-son investment team for $3.3 million earlier this month.

– It seems that last Saturday they threw a private party to celebrate the acquisition of the building. An inside source gave us these details: “These two guys are opening up a restaurant called The Abbey in that space. A making for a great party — awesome decor/atmosphere, DJ, free flowing booze and good catering from Jax — but the vibe/attendees were lame… I would say there were about 100 people total — which seemed small in the huge space…”

MTV feeds us something new this week. Shameless, drunken drama. Bout f***ing time. Been waiting all damn season. Good to see the show return to its roots.

The episode starts with the roommates drinking (finally). Jenn boasts that she can hold her alcohol. Then she and Tyrie have a heartfelt conversation in which she confesses that she thinks Ty is “so freakin’ rad, dude.” The problem is Ty reminds Jenn of her ex-boyfriend. Suddenly, like a non-sequitur, they agree that they’ll butt heads one day, then laugh, drink more and hug…

– After a week of romantic hijinks with Tyrie we return to the screaming, drunken drama we know/ocassionally love “The Real World” for. In the preview below it looks like they make it outside Market Street again, this time to visit the unbelievably cheesy Coyote Ugly on the 16th St. Mall. Then they’re aboard some kind of private bus (a short one, it seems) yelling at each other as Alex looks on with mild interest.

Here’s the MTV-approved description: “Blindfolding! Spanking! Girls Gone Angry! Too much fun in one night leads Jenn into a drunken, mascara-smearing tirade, with Tyrie again involved and at the forefront of said anger. Are you noticing a trend?
