– Alex Smith, “The Real World: Denver” cast member that got more tail in the first episode than all the roommates combined, recently did an interview with the East Valley Tribune, a suburban Arizona-area newspaper close to where Alex goes to school. Nothing too enlightening in it, since he’s contractually prevented from answering any questions about the current season, but worth a read…

– “We were all just kind of partying and having a good time,â€? he said in the article. The 22-year-old senior, majoring in psychology and working as a server at Shabu Fondue in Chandler, Ariz., also said, “I didn’t think it was going to be a big deal, but apparently they (roommates Colie and Jenn) did.â€?

– Duh. It’s a TV show! Smith, a Tempe resident, admitted he’s embarrassed to watch the show with other people. He also had this to say about our fair city: “I think that when most people think of Denver they think of, like, maybe a smaller kind of town feel or maybe like a mountain kind of town, but it’s really like down in L.A. or something like that,â€? he says. “There’s a nice little part of town that’s really business-oriented and then there’s another one that’s really party-oriented. … If you kind of put Scottsdale and Tempe together and then plumped it into Phoenix, that’s kind of what Denver would be like.â€? (emphasis added).
