Ask a few meat eaters to share lunch with you at a vegetarian restaurant, and you might be greeted with skepticism, and, perhaps, a few jabs to your mental acuity. At Leaf Vegetarian Restaurant in Boulder, a variety of tastes and textures surprise the palate, inspiring “hmmms” and “yumms” from even the strictest “meat and potatoes” person…

This aging band, formed in Australia, brought down the you-know-what at the Fillmore last week.
– CROWDED HOUSE —
Neil Finn made good on a promise made in “Don’t Dream It’s Over” — “You’ll never see the end of the road while you’re traveling with me” — hitting the road with his reformed band 11 years after its farewell concert.

Tickets are on sale Sept. 15. All Ages, $25, Boulder Theater.

And while we missed the Fillmore gig, the Red Rocks show on Aug. 16 was a true throwdown that featured the boys looking and sounding better than they have in the last decade. Working their way through a wishlist of tracks that spanned their career, the Beastie Boys sounded more together than they have in recent years — and the occasional addition of a live band only enhanced the tracks in the crisp mountain air…
