– Like any great taco city, Denver’s taqueria tour stops mostly at nondescript strip malls and lunch trucks, dingy-looking diners and neighborhood hideaways. So prevalent is the taco — along with its cousins, the burrito, flauta, tamale, pupusa, torta — its restaurants eventually blend into the landscape. Blink and you may miss them. But they are there.

  1. El Taco de Mexico on Santa Fe & 7th is by far the best Mexican food in town. It is very much a whole in the wall, but completely delicious.
