– If you weren’t able to attend the indie-tastic Monolith Festival at Red Rocks Amphitheatre last weekend, check out Denver Post pop music critic Ricardo Baca’s review of the event. You can also peep John Moore’s excellent slideshow and peruse more photos from Post photog Laurie Scavo right here.

– I missed the Friday sets, but Saturday went as smooth as butter. All the bands were on-time, the event was coherent and well-organized, and (most importantly) the sundry lineup of bands never failed to impress, or at the very least amuse (as in Brian Jonestown Massacre’s pathetic attempt at jamming). Also — the singer from Art Brut is possibly the funniest dude I’ve seen on a rock stage since David Cross.
