– Remember when this blog was a “Real World: Denver” gossip fest? Yeah, I’ve tried to forget it myself. But here’s the resolution of an MTV-related story we’ve been following since we announced it last year (note: “announced,” not “endorsed”). “Vincent Margera, who played Don Vito on his nephew’s MTV show, ‘Viva La Bam,’ collapsed in court today after being found guilty of two counts of sexual assault on a child,” The Denver Post reported…

Rock ‘n opera? Try the East Village

The East Village Opera Company, which visits Fort Collins’ Lincoln Center on Nov. 4, is an 11-person band reinventing classic opera arias with stadium-sized rock tools. Sound like a recipe for cheesy bombast? Perhaps, but the New York-based group’s multi-instrumentalist/co-founder Peter Kiesewalter explains why his band has something to offer for both classical and rock fans, and why opera needs acts like his to stay relevant…
