Surgeon General’s warning: Beer pong may induce feelings of amorous joy and accomplishment.
NA-KED LAP! NA-KED LAP! NA-KED LAP!
How many years has it been since you’ve heard these words in a non-reputation-damaging social setting? How long since you’ve nailed that strategic bounce? An unexpected bring back? Or the even rarer, mythological, DOUBLE bring back?
For beer pong fans, there’s no better place to re-live your college years than Tambien this Thursday — and every Thursday — for the rest of summer. Beginning at 9 p.m., pongers of all ages (at least 21, that is) are invited to try their luck on Tambien’s two “standard size” (i.e. banquet) tables.

That orange blur could be one of your balls — if you’re lucky.
For a flat fee of $25, teams of two can play in a single-elimination six-cup tournament (i.e. six cups per side in standard triangle formation). The winners will receive cash prizes and free entry into the following week’s contest. And yes, these balls glow in the dark.
Tournament coordinator Jerri Theil spoke of her own experience with the hallowed pastime via e-mail.

A jaunty lad concentrates on his technique in a collegiate environment.
“The last time I played ping pong (which could loosely be referred to as LIQUOR PONG) was with Ellen Robinson, Alan Cumming (the actor) & his boyfriend in Washington D.C. when I was at the Creative Coalition party after the Inauguration. Apparently we were all being antisocial and got in trouble and had to go upstairs and sit on the stage and watch Sting perform.”
This Thursday will feature a face-off between 5280 magazine and Westword. Put down that Wii controller, crack those knuckles and get thyself to Cherry Creek!

Thanks! We’re just writing about someone else’s event, though, so we’ll let them submit it if they want…
